Here's what others have to say about us...

"Kathy Edwards and her wonderful caring staff are guardian angels. They have done more for my mom than anyone could ask for or imagine. The home like atmosphere, where everyone is treated like family, consistently produces exceptional care for mom. It is wonderful to see how the camaraderie of staff and other residents has brought out her great sense of humour. There is never a worry that mom will be isolated or unattended at any time."

"I believe my mom's life has been extended because of the quality of care she receives. I am truly grateful to see her being treated with dignity and respect, receiving homemade nutritious meals and living in a comfortable and caring home-like environment."

"The wonderful care provided by Kathy Edwards and her staff have produced tremendous results for my father. After being diagnosed with total blindness, heart failure and kidney failure, we brought dad to a nursing home and later a rest home where we believed he would be well cared for. However, he became frustrated at both places as it took staff a long time to tend to his needs. He had became very nervous, disoriented and lonely as he was left alone for great lengths with no-one to talk to. He was also loosing a great deal of weight and broke his hip at the rest home."

"As dad's hip was mending, I found Seniors Alternative Care and Kathy Edwards who reassured me dad would be taken care of properly. After Kathy gave dad a calling bell to keep in his pocket for use day or night, he began to feel safe. Knowing someone was also close by gave him additional peace of mind. Through healthy meals and snacks, my dad has regained weight and now looks better than he had in the years before he first because ill. More importantly, he isn't lonely any more. Kathy is the most compassionate person I have ever known."

"When our 86 year mother who had been residing in an elder care facility fell and broke her arm, a decision was made not to set it due to a pre-existing condition and her age. This left mom unable to meet the minimum standard of care at the facility."

"Needing to find mom a new residence, we visited several nursing homes but found none of them suitable for mom. Luckily we heard about Kathy and Senior's Alternative Care. We were immediately impressed as Kathy offered to come to the hospital to meet mom, something no one else had done. Kathy was warm, compassionate, and most importantly she and mom had an immediate rapport."

"When touring the facility, we found it to be perfect for mom. It was clean and comfortable. The staff was as we expected, courteous, caring and put a smile on mom's face. Her health improved tremendously in the first few months. Kathy began daily routines of therapy on her arm and within a short time, she was using it to feed herself. Mom has thrived under Kathy's care as she has a unique way of giving people a reason to get up in the morning and to enjoy life to its fullest. We feel very blessed to having met Kathy."

"Both my parents were in difficult positions. My mother had fallen and broken her hip shortly having a heart attack and my father had a history of strokes and hearing problems. After meeting Kathy, my parents began living at her facility. Knowing dad's health was failing, Kathy arranged for my parents to celebrate their 77th anniversary at Seniors Alternative Care with a small gathering. Kathy does everything she can to make the people in her care feel like they are at home – not in a home. She spent many nights sleeping in a chair beside dad's bed when he was having chest pains. She could tell when he was in difficulty just by looking at his face and listening to him sleep. Kathy frequently caught the chest pains early and either stopped them with medication or got dad to emergency. Recently, dad passed away after Christmas. I am writing this because I believe in what Kathy does for people."

"As a psychiatrist and physician, I have considerable experience with patients living under Mrs. Edwards care. The nursing, medication management and nutritional care have all been excellent. The patients have generally had nothing but good things to say about their personal care. Their dress and grooming reflect this."

"It has been most reassuring to our family to know that our father is getting the 24 hour care that he requires. Since my father has multiple health difficulties including dialysis three times a week, Kathy has been open to any proposals put forth by health professionals. She readily communicates health concerns to these professionals so that my father will receive whatever care, medication or medical intervention deemed necessary. My father receives visits from many of his friends in the cozy home-like atmosphere Kathy provides."
